Tanabata Celebration Recap at Compass Offices Japan
From July 1st to 7th, Compass Offices Japan proudly celebrated Tanabata (七夕)—a cherished Japanese festival that honors the once-a-year reunion of two celestial lovers: Orihime (the Weaving Princess) and Hikoboshi (the Cowherd), represented by the stars Vega and Altair. According to legend, these two are separated by the Milky Way and are only allowed to meet on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month—a tale that continues to inspire hope and love across generations.

A Week of Wishes and Wonder
Throughout the week, all four of our centers were transformed into vibrant spaces of cultural celebration. Our community came together to write their hopes, dreams, and heartfelt wishes on colorful tanzaku (短冊)—traditional paper strips used during Tanabata. These were carefully hung on bamboo branches, in keeping with tradition, creating a stunning display of positivity and aspiration.
From personal goals and career milestones to wishes for good health, happiness, and world peace, each tanzaku added a splash of color and meaning to our shared space. The bamboo trees stood tall as symbols of growth, resilience, and connection.
A Community United by Tradition
The Tanabata celebration was more than just a cultural event—it was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, culture, and expression. It brought together members from diverse backgrounds, encouraging moments of reflection, inspiration, and shared joy.
We were especially touched by the enthusiasm and creativity of our members. Every wish written and every smile shared contributed to an atmosphere of warmth and wonder that truly embodied the spirit of Tanabata.
Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this celebration so memorable. Your contributions brought light, laughter, and a little celestial sparkle to our workspaces.
As we continue to embrace cultural traditions and community engagement throughout the year, we look forward to more opportunities to connect, celebrate, and grow together.
May all your Tanabata wishes come true!
