Compass Offices Hanoi Design – Creating a Dedicated Office Environment for an Enterprise

We not only pursue a high-performance office environment but are also committed to integrating Vietnam’s rich historical context and magnificent natural landscape into the fabric of the design. We translate Hanoi’s iconic structures and the colour language of Ha Long Bay into geometric lines and serene tones within the space.

A Symphony of Structures: Inspiration from the Geometry and Light of Long Bien Bridge

Long Bien Bridge, the historical iron bridge spanning the Red River, with its unique geometric structure and resilient spirit, became the soul of our office ceiling design. This structural aesthetic is interpreted in two styles across different spaces:

1. Reception Area: Geometric Acoustic Panels and Light Matrix

As the headquarters’ facade, the reception area features modern white geometric acoustic panels above. The designer abstracted the interlocking feel of the bridge’s steel framework with precise geometric cuts, creating a bright and acoustically comfortable space.

The lighting arrangement is particularly considered, with light bulbs cleverly suspended in the gaps between each panel, forming a transparent and rhythmic light fixture array. This light and shadow matrix not only provides illumination but also enthusiastically and structurally welcomes every visitor, like a scattering of lights.

2. Cafe Breakout Area: Linear Warmth and Rhythm

In the Cafe round table area for informal meetings and breaks, the designer continued the bridge’s linear vocabulary but added the warmth of wood to create a relaxing atmosphere:

We transformed the originally cold industrial steel structure into a warm geometric wooden ceiling. The staggered wooden grain lines reproduce the powerful geometric rhythm of the bridge’s steel frame, retaining the architectural structural tension while injecting the unique warmth and serenity of wood into the interior space. At the same time, the embedded wooden linear light troughs, like the continuous tracks on the bridge, guide the line of sight, symbolizing connection and flow, allowing users to feel a sense of orderly historical heritage amidst the interplay of light and shadow.

An Immersive Experience of Lake and Mountain Scenery: The Azure Imagery of Ha Long Bay

The design of the Lounge Area shifts completely to Vietnam’s natural treasures, aiming to create a social core filled with the healing power of Colour:

Stepping into the Public Breakout Area (Lounge Area), the eye is drawn to an extremely visually striking extra-long island bar. The design inspiration for this area comes from the azure scenery of the World Natural Heritage site Ha Long Bay, combined with the dynamic imagery of a train running across the iron bridge.

We boldly used “Lake Green” as the core base tone, applying this Colour not only to the bar’s facade but also extending this green upwards to the local ceiling area above the bar. This “sky-and-earth-echoing” Colour wrapping design creates an immersive space, as if one is within Ha Long Bay’s clear waters and limestone caves. Pendant lights hang down, dotting the space like shimmering water reflections. This long bar, stretching across the space, is like a train full of vitality, carving out a tranquil and vast oasis within the bustling business center, bringing users peace and inspiration from nature.
