Hong Kong is known to have one of the most efficient transportation systems in the world and Sheung Wan is no exception. While buses and taxis are abundant, there are other modes of transportation in Sheung Wan. 

Sheung Wan MTR Station – Hop on the MTR and access all parts of Hong Kong. Being just one stop away from Central station, a major interchange station, you can head North, East and West including Hong Kong International Airport with the Airport Express line. 

Tram – As a slower and economical mode of transportation, the tram leads you through the vibrant parts of Sheung Wan. Running along the northern side of Hong Kong island, it connects from Shau Kei Wan on the eastern end to the west at Shek Tong Tsui.

Macau Ferry Terminal – If you’re looking for a day trip from Hong Kong, Macau is a must visit! With the ferry terminal conveniently located in Sheung Wan, it takes just less than an hour to get to Macau.

Sing Heung Yuen – 2 Mee Lun Street, Sheung Wan
For a traditional experience, visitors should eat at a Dai Pai Dong, an open air food stall. Their must try dishes are tomato noodle soup and condensed milk buns.

For Kee – 200 Hollywood Road, Sheng Wan
Tucked in a quieter part of Sheung Wan, this local spot is known for their pork chop rice. With limited seating and lunchtime crowds, it’s best to go early to avoid lining up for too long.

Sun Yat-Sen Historical Trail
If you’re a history buff, follow the Sun Yat Sen Historical Trail and learn all about Hong Kong’s history. The trail not only recognizes the achievements of Sun Yat Sen, the founder of Republic of China, but also his contributions he had to his earlier years in Hong Kong. The whole trail takes about two hours to complete, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. 

Chinese Medicine Street (Ko Shing Street)
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around for over 5,000 years and is still widely used among locals. Stroll along the street and not only will you see shops selling ancient remedies, you’ll also find those selling dried seafood. Step inside and learn more about traditional Chinese medicine from the friendly shopkeepers. 

Sheung Wan Market and Cooked Food Centre
With a traditional wet market on the first floor and cooked food stalls upstairs, this is where you’ll find the freshest ingredients and dishes from a variety of cultures such as Indian, Italian, and Vietnamese. Be prepared to trade in comfort for a delicious and cheap meal.
